The Home Builders Care Foundation (HBCF) continues to demonstrate the incredible heart and commitment of our Association. Through expanded scholarship opportunities, vital community repair programs, successful fundraising efforts, and strengthened community partnerships, HBCF is making a meaningful and lasting difference throughout the Sioux Empire. From investing in the next generation of industry talent to improving the safety and accessibility of homes for local residents, the Foundation reflects the best of who we are, compassionate, dedicated, and united in building stronger communities.
Scholarships for Future Industry Leaders
Recognizing the growing need for skilled professionals across the building industry, the Home Builders Care Foundation has doubled its annual scholarship award, from $1,000 to $2,000 per student. This expansion reinforces our commitment to developing future builders, designers, and industry specialists. Students pursuing construction management, carpentry, architecture, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Scholarship applications are now open! Click here to apply. Applications are due April 2, 2026.
Repair Affair Applications Now Open
In addition to supporting students entering the industry, HBCF continues its hands-on outreach through the annual Repair Affair program. This initiative provides free home repairs and accessibility improvements to homeowners in need across the Sioux Empire. Volunteer teams, made up of builders, remodelers, trades professionals, and association volunteers, donate their time and skill to complete essential projects such as deck repairs, ramp installations, and safety enhancements. Help us identify homeowners who could benefit from this program. Applications are due May 1st, 2026.
Holiday Gala Dessert Auction Fuels Scholarships
During this year’s Holiday Gala, the annual Dessert Auction raised an impressive $7,500 to support HBCF scholarship programs. A heartfelt thank-you goes to the local businesses who donated desserts and to Carl Harris for his standout contribution that helped push the auction over the top. This fun and impactful event directly supports high school seniors entering the trades.
Parade of Homes Raises Support for the Foundation
This year’s Parade of Homes showcased the talent of our local industry professionals while raising nearly $20,000 for HBCF programs. These funds go directly toward scholarships, Repair Affair projects, and other charitable housing initiatives across the Sioux Empire.
Building Hope and Opportunity
Through scholarships, service projects, and community partnerships, the Home Builders Care Foundation continues to embody the building industry’s spirit of giving. Whether helping a student begin a career in the trades or ensuring a homeowner can safely remain in their home, HBCF is committed to creating lasting impact, one project at a time.
